  These hand-tooled copper plates are based on cover designs from around the world.
  
  The relief is formed by pressing out from the back and tamping down from the front with special wooden tools.
  
  The process is repeated until the correct embossment is achieved
  
  After the antique application, highlights are restored by rubbing with fine steel wool. The finish is preserved with a protective spray.
  The colonial type 8" x 8" easel-back or wall frames are rough-textured with burnished highlights. Exposed nail heads at the inner border accent the art, imparting a colonial quality.
